Specsavers Corporate Eyecare today launches for SMEs its new Eyecare At Work website at www.specsavers.co.uk/corporate. Created as a standalone area of the main Specsavers website, the Eyecare At Work section offers support and realistic solutions that will be of particular assistance to the owners of small or start-up businesses.
Benefits for small businesses
The new site has been created to be a practical tool for employers. Through the website, employers can register for eyecare eVouchers and then simply log-in to purchase and distribute selected eVouchers to the relevant employees. Eyecare eVouchers are low-cost and can be purchased in any number, from a minimum of just five vouchers. With no tie-in or contracts and great flexibility, small businesses often find the eVouchers to be the ideal eyecare solution.
The site has also been furnished with a wealth of useful tools for employers. These include downloadable posters, to help with the communication of the benefits of eyecare. FAQs help with employers’ understanding of the benefits and downloadable guides provide information on relevant regulations and legislation.
Employer and Employee sections
Simple navigation allows employers and employees to access specific sections of the site, to gain information relevant to their needs. Employee areas include information about how to use their eVoucher and what to expect from their eye examination. Employees can even locate their most convenient Specsavers Store and request an appointment, online.
Both employer and employee sections are broken down into areas of eyecare requirements, covering DSE eyecare, safety eyewear, optical care and driver eyecare.
Dedicated driving section
Specsavers Corporate Eyecare is working hard to bring driver eyecare up the agenda with employers. Employers must, under the Health and Safety at work act, ‘take appropriate steps to ensure the health and safety of their employees and others who may be affected by their activities when at work. This includes the time when they are driving or riding at work, whether this is in a company or hired vehicle, or in the employee’s own vehicle’. (For full details visit: www.hse.gov.uk/roadsafety/employers.htm).
Being able to see clearly is surely one of the most basic requirements for safe driving. Poor eyesight can occur gradually and easily go unnoticed. The best way to be sure that vision is adequate for driving is to regularly have a full eye examination. Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has created a full and detailed Driving At Work section of the new website, which aims to bring employers and employees further details regarding responsibilities, and solutions that are realistic for small businesses.
DSE, Safety and Optical Care
There are also dedicated sections on the new website to help with the specifics of display screen equipment (DSE) eyecare, safety eyewear and optical care. These help to inform the employer about the relevant legislation and the eVouchers that are available to cover specific eyecare needs within the workplace.
Suzanne Randall, corporate account manager, for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare says: ‘We are very excited about the new Eyecare At Work site and the benefits it brings for employers and employees alike. We are always looking to add value to the eyecare we offer and the website provides a wealth of additional information at the touch of a button.’
